What's in a Cake Name?
This is slightly older news (from last month) but we thought it appropriate for this site. The next time you're baking for the local fete or cake sale, you might like to think twice about what you call your produce...
Dorset County Council has forced a cake-maker to rename her sugar-coated Robin Tarts because they didn’t actually contain the bird! The Paradise Slice was also subject to a name change as perhaps it couldn't live up to its title?
A council spokesman said: “Consumers have the right to know what is in food.”
Apparently a local customer did not agree: “What are they going to ban next – spotted dick?”
